Ok, stupid question, but i'm confused....

About 10 days ago, i found front legs of my clibanarius crab on sand, ripped from body (i assumed), so i figured that he got a fight with other crabs, so i throw that in garbage, and move on, believing that my crab is rip...

Today, i saw him on sand, near the front glass, no mistake, its him, i counted others, all there, no empty shells.....

So, do they molt, and that i was found was not pieces of him, or he managed to survive and grow another legs?

I know its dumb, but no other explanation.....

Hermits do molt and will turn around and eat the old shell for added calcium
