Closed loop and reefkeeper

So with this build that is seemingly taking forever. Due my work. I have decided to do a closed loop system. With that being said. I have a reefkeeper. And will be looking into a external pump and a oceans motion 4 way.

My question is I am going to get an apc for the reefkeeper. What external pump can be run in this configuration?

How big is the tank? You might be better off running two pumps on separate loops then ramp them up and down independent of each other....

the tank will be a 180 gallon.... i currently have a reef keeper and just looking for control if all possible.... i love the idea of a oceans motions device....

The waveline DC12000 is controllable. They make about 3200 GPH each. You could set it to ramp one up while the other down and a few times a day turn both on high to really stir things up.

You should buy the DC1 module to go with your APC. It will allow you to control any of the DC pumps. On a 180, I would run a single large pump with the OM 4way. I think you will be happy with the circulation you get with the 4way.

So, with the OM why would you necessarily need the APC to run the DC pump? unless you just have it vary the current over an extended period of time. One tohing to consider is the soft start of these pumps. is that done by their controller or internally in the pump itself? I have a jebao DC6000 with the soft start.

it was my impression that the DC1 was truly designed with the WP models in mind.

I ran a CL in my 180. ran it wide open all the time. Only when I had it fluctuating (on and of) did i start to have issues.

I am only looking at options. And absolute control. As In possibly ramping down at night. And back up in the am.

It's all research at the moment.

I just like the idea of one system control. If for any reason just peace of mind. I am still well within the planning stages for this tank. It also will be a 180 with a ghost type over flow.
