Bacterial bloom, added any bacteria recently? Also if you haven’t “rinsed” filter wool out when it’s first used it can make the water cloudy but haven’t seen it to this extent where it’s running for days. Depends on the quality of the wool and how much you’re using but I’d most likely go with a bacterial bloom if you’ve added any bacteria with a new filter especially. Is is new media too?My reef aquarium is having issues with foggy water. I’ve had some buddies of mine tell me to get a UV sterilizer, but I can’t because the tank is only 10 gallons and there’s no sump anyways there is brand new filtration that’s been in the hang on the back filter for about three days. I’m actively running carbon so I have no clue what could be causing the water to be foggy, everything I’ve tried has not fixed Does anyone have any. A water change is also just done.

Put some filter wool, lots of people use it as filtration but also as a water purifier because it does work really well. Just rinse it in tank water first

I mean you can use any really, it’s generally cheap. I’m from the UK so I don’t know what they stock but I use Aqualon at the minute and it cost me under £7.50

Are there any other benefits of running this rather than just keeping the water clear?I'd recommend the GKM 9watt version... it's rated for up to 50g, but you can run it on a timer if needed. If you think the 3W version would fit better that'd be fine too.
BUT, it'll take a few days once the UV starts.

How would I run it on a timer? I think I’m going to get the one you mentioned. Does it fit like an hang on the back filter? I don’t have much room
If you don't have an Apex with a power bar, I hight recommend Kasa's power strips.
