You could also add a flocculant like food grade calcium carbonate powder (the kind used for brewing). Something like 1 tbsp dissolved in 50 mL of water and then you can add a portion of that to the tank. As long as you have fine enough mechanical filtration this should clear up any dust or debris floating around in the tank.
