Low oxygen from bacteria bloom comes to mind. Typically, nothing dies during carbon dosing.

We really need the water volume and amount you have been dosing each day. Pictures also help

It sounds like a bacterial bloom

What was/is your nitrate level, I assume it’s high if your using Nopox?

If tank is new, no reason to be using NOPOX yet but rather focusing on bacteria additions such as Micro Bacter XLM. What point is Cloudy can be best determined by pics under white lighting.
How long has tank been running, how did you cycle tank and for how long ?
What type of filters are you using and is tank reef ready with an overflow.

Welcome to R2R! As others have said, sounds like a bacterial bloom but more information and pictures are needed.

The tank is 10 gallons and about 1-2 months old

Welcome! Glad you joined. Sorry for your losses. Cloudy water also makes me think bacterial bloom so it may be consuming oxygen. Dropping airstones is a temporary fix. Need more info on water parameters, and given its 10 gallons, do a water change. At 1-2 months, you are just coming out of your cycle... Knocking back those initial nitrates is typically done with water change and not NOPOX (or vodka).

Have you considered starting your build thread? I found its a great place to document my tank's evolution for myself. I started tank first then joined, so I'm still finding myself going back collecting pictures & updating historically as well as current state. Once you create your first post in your thread and link it to your account, they will give you build badge (look left, under my ID)

This might help you find people local to you:

This is a good reference book type online article I still review:
