Does this look like it's dying? I got it yesterday & earlier today it opened up & was flowing. Now it closed up all of a sudden. It doesn't look like any fish,, crabs, or snails disturbed it.

Hi, it’s just closed up for now, but looks healthy. It’s probably just adjusting to its new surroundings. I find that they don’t like much flow or light, at least in my tank, anyway

Thanks, I think i did turn up the lighting a bit higher today. I'll tweak it tomorrow & see.

That might be a bit of what's going on here. It's typically a good idea to turn your lights down a little when you introduce new corals, then bring them back up slowly over some time. This reduces any light stress on corals as they acclimate to their new environment.

It looks healthy, just closed. With softies that’s usually not an issue. They tend to be a little peculiar until they settle in with the new lighting, flow and minor variations in water chemistry after a move, so opening and closing at odd times is pretty normal at first. It will develop its own routine shortly.

Update: It's thriving in lower lighting & lower flow. Right now the lights are off & I see spots on yhe stems. What is it?
