Pic or it didn't happen. My clownfish started hosting my torch coral as of yesterday and I noticed today he’s not really eating and his mouth looks swollen. Should I be worried or will this pass?
Mine hosts a torch as well…not thrilled about it but she hasn’t caused a problem yet.Pic or it didn't happen.
Not saying they don't. I have had clowns host coral.Mine hosts a torch as well…not thrilled about it but she hasn’t caused a problem yet.
Possibility of a sting from the coral. Swollen can be mucus but guesswork. Pics under white lighting always helpful and will help with assesment. My clownfish started hosting my torch coral as of yesterday and I noticed today he’s not really eating and his mouth looks swollen. Will get a pic when the lights ramp up a bit. I’m in Australia so it’s morning nowNot saying they don't. I have had clowns host coral.
I was more worried about the clowns mouth and not eating. Just needed a pic to make sure nothing more was going on. I can't tell by the words, I need a picture.
Ok that’s a relief! It will pass they can be hosted by many different corals and got stung most likely. They get used to it and will eat when it’s hungry.
Lol fair enough. That’s a great analogyMouth open sounds like it bit the tentacle, and got stung, as happens with clowns. It will go back to normal soon. Think of it like burning the roof of your mouth with pizza, gonna hurt to eat for a bit.

Ok great to know! ThanksDon’t be surprised if you see little black dots on your fish. Hypermelanization from the coral stings. Mine hosts my hammer and had the swelling and spots. They went away eventually
Yeah he seems to be pretty much back to normal this morning. I’d just never seen it before!! Although I’ve never had a clownfish host a coral before either lolLooks okay to me! Just keep an eye on him for any other chang win behavior or appearance. As said, expect to see some black spots.
