Hello fellow reefers!
My female clown fish appears to have fin rot on her ventral fin. Curious to see if anyone has seen this before and if so how did you go about treating.
I have 45 gal tank with with 25 gal sump. All water parameters are in normal range. I have had the tank running for close to a year now. Currently feed twice a day with mysis/ reef nutrition soaked in vitachem. Any input/advice would be greatly appreciated!

The right pelvic fin? Hard to see. What other fish are in the tank and how long has it had this? Localized fin damage like this on just one fin is usually an injury.

Yes it is the right fin.
Currently I have two clown Fish, two watchman gobys, one royal gramma, and one spotted mandarin goby. Also have two cleaner shrimp and one pistol shrimp. I first noticed it maybe a week ago. I’ve been using seachem stress guard but doesn’t seem to be getting any better.

I’m thinking it s just an injury. If it isn’t growing larger, I’d leave it be because the alternative would be to set up a med tank and treat with antibiotics .

Curious to know if the clown postures in front of the cleaner shrimp at all?

Yes occasionally they will let the shrimp clean them. I know it’s hard to tell in the picture but that fin is pretty much gone. It’s just a white nub now.

Ah, hopefully the infection stops at that point. When a fin base is involved, the fin typically won’t grow back.
