They keep getting caught at the vents in my tank. I had to help him this morning during feeding I watched him get stuck to it.

Any suggestions for me to try of should I just hope and wait till they get fatter.

Are they getting caught on the overflow weir or getting into the overflow compartment?

You can put something over the overflow like a piece of screen or acrylic to keep them out of it.

(I'm hoping the OP's fish is not ailing-- as in too weak. He mentioned it getting 'sucked into' an area where it shouldn't.) (?)

Can you post a photo or two of the problem area(s)?

I did buy kinda small ones to grow up. A little miss calculation.

I think he is saying the fish are getting sucked into the overflow or getting into the overflow

Those are pretty small. You can cover the weir with some mesh. Are you able to turn your flow down through your overflow so that flow over the weir isn't as strong?

Ok. So if they are healthy, but just a bit small, you can add some temporary screening material until they grow. Maybe something like this that you can cut to any size or shape-- I believe you can find it in a craft store, it might be for needlepoint projects.

I can take my vents down and that would lower my water level but I think
it makes it easier for him to slip through.

Okay I’ll try and find some mesh I just didn’t know if that would mess flow or filtration up so I didn’t try it at first. Am I able to feed the an extra time would that help them get bigger. Or even feed a diet other than just flakes like some kind of protein.

Adding some frozen Mysis might help them grow faster, but if your fish are currently too small to want to feed on them, be prepared to cut each piece of Mysis into even smaller pieces. Best wishes!
