Clown tankmates

I have a 32 biocube with two tiny little clowns and a few BTA and a small rescued haddoni. If the haddoni survives and grows, I'll either have to find it a new home or move it to my 60. The clowns are Clarkii and they will get pretty large eventually and any other fish inhabitants I put in will have to be moved. In the meantime, I’m considering putting one (maybe two, depending) other fish in the tank with the baby clowns. I was thinking a peaceful tankmate might make them more comfortable. Any thoughts?

I really like firefish, they're extremely peaceful.

Yes I agree with the firefish they are wonderful little fish with great colors. A Goby would be a great addition as well. They are peaceful fish with great personalities. I have a Diamond Goby to help with my sand bed, but they have all different kinds with different colors that stay small.

Maybe a clown goby, The small size, it may be overlooked by the clowns even when they get bigger ???

I have my Goby in with my Maroon Clownfish and they like to have "Sand Wars" as we call them. But other than that she doesn't bother him and if she does he has no problem giving her attitude right back. Tough little fish.

Those are good ideas. I have a purple Firefish in my 60 and have had a Clown Goby. I think if I get one of those, I need to catch the mantis first. :mad:

Yes! That's a perfect example of the sand wars lol Exactly why I love saltwater fish such great personality.

sorry i dont have any experience with clarkii. ive only been reefing for 3 months but i have 2 ocellaris clowns in a 120l with a sixline wrasse and a coral banded shrimp. ive heard really bad things bout both sixlines and cbs, but my sixline doesnt bother anyone and neither does the cbs. the shrimp does like to snack on my xenia tho.

thought i had a mantis when my tank was cycling. i overreacted and ripped the tank apart, only to find it wasnt a mantis. it was an extended family of pistol shrimps that keep me up at night. still love them tho

I wish.... this is definitely a mantis. He taunts me by sitting front and center in the tank. If I approach, he zooms off.
