Awesome! Thank you in advance! I look forward to seeing what the fry from the lightning maroon look like - I have been fascinated with that strain every since Matt Pedersen started working with them but I have not kept them myself (yet!).

I will have some updates this evening. The Wyoming White/Bali Aquarich pair laid eggs yesterday afternoon. So now we have 3 sets of eggs.

As for the maroons, I will do one better and get some shots of the difference between the colors of the eggs as well. The colors from fertilized and non-fertilized also. Hope to take everyone through each step/stage of the process.

Those Bali black picassos are awesome! Following

Thanks! I agree, they are very unique and the coloration is very bright. Hope to seem some unique variations of off-spring from them! Their first set of eggs went unfertilized, but they laid about 24 hours after moving and transporting them about 6-8 hours between travel and setup/tear down. So that’s understandable.

Wyoming White/Bali Aquarich Black Picasso pair have eggs as of 5/29! Not the best picture, but big momma wouldn’t stop chasing me away. Lol

Here’s a quick time lapse video of “Preparing for Laying Eggs”. It was supposed to capture them actually laying the eggs, but my phone battery was dying to quick.

Small egg update...

Both the Photons and Maroons eggs have changed from bright orange to a dark maroon/orange. This tells me that these eggs were fertilized and the color change usually happens in 48 hours time.

As you can see, the Wyoming White/Bali Aquarich Black Picasso’s eggs are still bright orange, but they are also 24 hours behind he others and should begin to change colors overnight.

Details on the Clownfish Breeding setup:

“Egg Laying” Pairs Setup
-Custom Acrylic 36” x 18” x 15”T
—Each chamber is 9” x 18” x 15”T
—Each chamber has 1” drain and a 1/2” return
—Each chamber has a ball valve on the return to control the amount of flow in each section. I turn the flow down the closer it gets to fry hatching.

-Trigger System Emerald 26 Sump
—1200gph Pump
—Eshopps Psk-75 Skimmer
—2 Eheim 200w heaters
—36” LED daylight on a timer

For the most part, the set up is very simple. It is easy to maintain and serves it’s purpose.

Future plans for the breeding setup:
—Larger Skimmer
—Add Algae Reactor
—Add UV Sterilizer
—Add Apex

This is my manifold I made in order to run multiple tanks and equipment from 1 pump. As of right now, it only feeds the 2 tanks holding 7 of the 8 pairs.

Sorry for the lack of updates. I went to visit family and was away from the clowns for a few days. But we are at day 8 for the Lighting pair and Photons.

Congratulations!!! That is awesome! I think that this is one of my most favorite parts of fish keeping and to me it never seems to get old! I can't wait to see more - thanks for sharing! :) :) :)
