Hi guys,

I have a clown that I recently noticed with a fin tear. I got the pair about 2 weeks ago. I also have a Midas Blenny in the tank who seems dominant.

Tank is a 25G. I don’t see any signs of aggression as I am always near it (it’s in my bedroom).

Is this fin rot or aggression? Thanks IMG_5992.png

Looks like its from aggression. It could be from the Midas blenny but it’s probably from the other clown.

Thanks! Any tips on how to confirm? I’m always watching but it’s impossible to tell. I feel like it’s happening at night.

Agree with first reply. Other clown may have gave him a little love nibble. If they are young it might be them starting to bond

I will say some fish will behave when we are watching. Sometimes always peek before entering or a small cam to video

It could be at night and if it is I would suspect the other clown more then blenny

thanks both for confirming. I would hate to get rid of the blenny. He’s very peaceful and I haven’t seen him nibble aside from swim like he owns the tank lol. I’ll keep an eye on things, worst case I have another tank I can throw one of the clowns in to keep it safe.
