Hi everyone, I'm new to the hobby and last weekend I was finally able to pick up my first fish for my reef tank. I went for the obvious choice: two clownfish. But when I arrived home from the store I suddenly noticed that one of the fish had this strange white line on one side of the bottom part of his mouth. Can anyone identify what this could be? Can it.possibly be a disease or is something else wrong with the fish?

From what I can tell the fish seems perfectly fine. It eats just as good as the other clownfish and is also very active. In the past 5 days I haven't noticed any changes in his behaviour as well.

It looks like an injury - perhaps if the pair were 'lip-locking'. Assuming it's not changing, I would just watch it.

generally occurs with mating, cleaning a rock or other area and even glass surfing. Keep an eye on it hoot healing and not suddenly getting sore/red

Thanks for your help to both of you! No, the injury hasn't changed in the past days. I will keep an eye out for the coming days and will report if something changes. Again: really appreciate the help!
