Clownfish Problem

Hi everyone,
I just got my phantom clownfish from DrReefs and he is acting super weird. He keeps drifting around the tank and bumping into my corals and then sinking to the bottom. Then randomly he will just jolt his whole body fast. Sometimes he will float to the top of the tank nose-up.
I kind of worried about him. Anyone think this is normal?

My first though is stress from the shipping process, how long has this been going on? If it's been a while and water parameters look good, it could be swim bladder disease. It's hard to tell in the video, is it breathing rapidly?

I’ll check when I got home. He had only been in the tank for about 20mins

He is breathing very rapidly.

Is he doing any better this morning? If you can, see if he will take to any food. Unfortunately, in situations like this, there is only so much you can do. There are a lot of other threads on this same topic on the forum, you could follow along with those and quarantine if you would like, but I feel that quarantine only makes the situation worse in cases like these. If it were me, I would contact DrReefs and see if they can give compensation or help you figure it out. Best of luck.

Thanks man. Sucks to have a loss like that but hopefully i can save up for a few months and grab a new fish somewhere else.

Losing fish (in my opinion is) one of the worst feelings in the world, especially when there's nothing you can do and you just have to watch them suffer. I had a breeding colony of zebra plecos (freshwater) that costed about $2k, one day, a big snowstorm rolled through and my power was out for about for about 32 hours. There was nothing I could do, my battery backups only lasted a few hours. The entire colony passed. Those following 2 weeks were probably the worst 2 weeks of my life, I felt like never touching or looking at fish tanks again, but here I am, still in it.

I’m so sorry man. This hobby can be so tough. I think that i will just invest in my own quarantine setup next time to ensure that the fish is as healthy as can be. Thank you for your time man
