Hi all.
My clownfish too fin has disappeared? It looks pretty rough. He’s been the only fish in the tank for months until recently. I added a golden assessor from a friends established tank. He is doing fine and stays at on the opposite end of my 73 gallon tank. I don’t even know if they’ve seen each other lol

Only other thing that changed is an added giant elegance coral. It started hosting my clown about 3 days ago. The clown doesn’t really snuggle up and swim in it like I’ve seen them do nems. He kinda stays away from tentacles and just lays in. Since the fin injury he kind of keeps his distance from it. Not sure if injury is due tomelegance, but I doubt it.

Clown still eats fine.

If I set up QT tank, what do I treat with? Thanks!

The reddish area at the base, looks to be a bit infected. It might have started out as a sting or even just an abrasion. I'd probably advise treating with antibiotics at this point. The trifecta mentioned above, or NFG if you have it. API triple sulpha is another good one in a pinch.

If you can get acriflavine (ruby reef rally or API fungus cure) can help slow it down until the antibiotics kick in. Administered as a 90-minute bath in a 5-gallon bucket or similar, using an airline and small heater.
