Have a clownfish in QT. It has developed dots on the ends of its fins. No other fish seem to effected, yet. Seems to only be near tips of fins so far.

Any idea what it is? Sorry I can't seem to get great pics of it. He's fast.

No abnormal behavior.

Appears to be a viral condition known as lymphocystis. Lympho is a condition and not disease. Often its associated with water quality issue as simple as elevated ammonia or nitrate and can be that of water from LFS and not yours. Assure to provide Good water quality monitored by a reliable test kit and feed nutritious food with fats such as LRS nano frenzy and mysis shrimp.
However, do keep an eye on it for stability and Not multiplying.

Thank you.

I do have LRS Reef Frenzy Nano and PE Mysis which I've fed a couple times to them. Most feedings have been BRS pellets, they seem to like it. Must've been pellet fed at the LFS because they took to it way more than the frozen.

I will switch back to frozen.

Should I do any food additives?

How long does it usually take to run its course?

I can’t tell if this is lymphocystis or not, but I’m concerned that it could be getting attacked. Clownfish dynamics are difficult to predict, but putting more than one pair in a small tank usually ends up as a problem. Dealers can get away with mixing a bunch of clowns in a tank for the short term, but in home aquariums, the
Non-paired one gets beat up. You may not even see it happen - when you are in the room watching the fish, they often stop fighting to watch you .

It's actually one of the more aggressive ones. I think the most agressive that's still in QT.

I know it's a risk, but it's for a harem tank.

I was on my phone this morning. I'm at my computer now, the screen is much larger. I can't rule out ich in this case. I would run the fish through a coppersafe treatment, which is a good idea even if the fish didn't have spots.....
