Hello everyone. I have never tried breeding any saltwater fish (lots of freshwater though), so I wanted to start off with clowns. I know how to take care of the fry and all, but the problem is getting a pair. Would I be better off buying a pair off of ebay or just buying a colony of 6-7 clowns and letting 2 pair up and put the rest in a different tank? Just want to gather some opinions, this is an idea I have had for a while and want to pursue it soon. Thank you

Just buy any two small clowns wait a few years and boom eggs! It's not that hard with clowns just takes awhile for them to pair

i have tried pairing clownfish a lot of times. probably on the north end of 10... only 1 "couple" didnt fight and paired up. they paired the first week i got them. maybe i need to be more persistent [emoji38]

First you need to decide what type of clowns you want to breed. Some are easier than others. Perc and Ocellaris are easy. Skunks can take 5 years to breed. Maroons can be tricky to pair, tomatoes I have no experience with.
