I'd appreciate help identifying this algae and any advice to manage.

A bunch has grown on the branches of the krypto candy cane coral in first photo. It's green, but more wiry/coarse than the usual green hair algae I've had in the tank. The second photo shows the beginning of growth on a nearby rock. I assume it's the same algae, although it's more sparse and seems brown rather than green.

Anyone know what this is, or how I can remove/manage it?

Thanks!

Manual removal with tweezers/toothbrush. Make sure you have sufficient cleanup crew to keep it from growing back en masse, trochus snails, cerith snails, swarf cerith, small hermits. Nice looking coral, I love candycanes.

Any luck with this type of algae? I have the same and haven’t been successful with getting it in check…

Manual removal did not work. I could not pull it off the rocks. I added a bunch of hermit crabs and they have eaten most of the algae, especially off the rocks. There's still some embedded on the coral branches, but I think the crabs are keeping it from growing too long or spreading.
