I only went to get fish food ;Hilarious ;Hilarious ;Hilariousand they had two of these that were just fragged yesterday; hence the white disc. He said they came on a rock that was from a tank break down. I bought the bigger piece for $20.

Here’s what it looks like opened up. All whites and then blue and white.

So I had it near the center of the tank. It’s about the highest flow area in there with how I’ve got the upgraded pump directed. The 2 corals that are doing better are in a slower flow area closer to the false tank end. I’ve moved it to the low flow end to see if it improves.

Mine is probably medium flow next to and a bit below a powerhead and medium light. Its a lumi lite led strip. Fingers crossed yours starts improving! I’m still not convinced I bought the same thing today...

The base of yours has the same blue but when it came to the polyps I don’t think it looked exactly the same either.hopefully my frag perks up and reveals itself soon.

QT setup is a Fluval evo5 with upgraded pump to an MJ606. It doubled the flow from 80gph to 160 gph. Output is aimed at the surface to keep it all agitated. Stock LED light. There is 5 lbs of Fiji pink sand, one piece of real live rock, and in the DIY eggcrate media tray I have floss, carbon pad, a marinepur sphere, and at the very bottom a 25watt preset heater.

I originally posted in the SPS forum looking for an ID. It’s been indicated that this may be some “ultra rare” coral. I’m skeptical as I’m sure anyone would be since I picked this up for less than $20.
Anyone here think this might be SMURF POLYPS?!?!?

I have something similar but it's red instead. Not sure, I've been wishy washy on what it could be, but I'm starting to think it may be Rhytisma.

Is it slimy when retracted?

Could also be sympodium. Some of it comes in very bright blue and it looks almost identical to my red one when both are fluffed. Upon closer examination of the polyps they are definitely different.

It’s been in QT now for right at 30 days. Not much risk now going to the DT. I’ll get some pics tomorrow once it’s settled again after the move.

fingers crossed I don’t regret the move.

I still haven’t touched it. Only changed water a couple times in the QT tank.

Can you post a pic of your red one please?
