Cobalt C-Vue 40 Mixed reef

I set this tank up on March 18th, 2019 with a pair of Kessil Tuna Blue A160’s, 40 pounds of Liferock, one of the sump sections is setup as a refugium with a Tunze Eco Chic LED refugium light, the other sections contains a Innovative Marine UV sterilizer and Innovative Marine GFO reactor, Duetto Duel-Sensor ATO XP Aqua and a Innovative Marine 5 gallon Hydrofill ATO reservoir and a Tunze 9004 Protein Skimmer.

I test my water weekly and all chemistry has been very stable no nitrites or nitrates, phosphate seems to be my biggest challenge. With the refugium and the GFO reactor I’m in the .05 to .10 ppm of phosphate using the Hanna phosphorous test kit. The livestock includes 1 Black Storm clownfish, 1 Flame Angel, 4 Chromis, 1 six line wrasse, 1 yellow Goby, 2 scarlet shrimp, 2 fire shrimp, 1 Tiger Snapping Shrimp, 1 yellow coral banded shrimp and a blue damsel that I cycled the tank with. I also have a large number of mixed reef hermits and snails.

Tracy - thanks for starting your build thread. This will be a great place for you to journal your changes as others following along. I expect that you will also enjoy looking back in six months or a year and seeing how much your tank has changed and matured. You are off to a great start!

Here’s an updated picture of the CVUE40. I was having a slight issue with nitrates at 2-4 ppm and I added an Aquamaxx FR-M internal media reactor with bio-pellets. After 2-3 weeks nitrates are almost undetectable.

Yes, it’s a perfect fit, low maintenance and does a perfect job!
