Running a Tunze 3155 with kalk for ATO in Apex. I have it coded to stop if the ph goes over 8.5. Problem is that if the ph goes over 8.5, it stops. Then when it hits 8.4, turns on and runs a little like it does when it restarts. This results in overfilling the sump (takes days, but runs my salinity down). What's the right way to do this? Some kind of defer code? Or maybe a if over 8.5 stop, but don't start until 8.2?
BTW - The ATO tube is too close to the ph probe. I will fix that, but this could be a major issue if I was out of town and the thing kept cycling on and off.

Thanks!

I don't think I would program it to basically control pH this way. I wouldn't chase pH anyway, but that me. I would just have the ATO maintain salinity by top off.

I use kalkwasser in my ATO reservoir for top off for years with no problems.

I understand what your trying to do. It would be to safe guard if the ATO malfunctioned and was continuing to run. There is a way to make sure it doesn't come back on for a prescribed time period.

If pH > 8.5 Then OFF
Min Time 030:00 Then OFF

This would turn the ATO off if the pH rises above 8.5 and wouldn't let it come back on for 30 minutes after the pH drops below 8.5. You could put any time frame in you like.
