HI guys I am new to this forum. I have a new setup it has been running for about 4 month's now. I built it for SPS only it is a 40 breeder with 60 more gallons be hind the scenes. I have 90x flow Ati 6 bulb sunpower and an over-sized skimmer. The problem I am having is the growth and color or the acros and monti that I have had in there for a mont or so they look pale. I added some acro frags and they have good color still but they have only been in there a week.

I only have two fish and a clown in the tank.

Parameters

Salinity 1.025
Nitrate o
Phospahate 0
Alk 10.5
Calcium 500

I use a 5 stage rodi system. I also have a settling tank, this is a new concept but what it does is catch any large detritus that leaves the main display, if you look in my sump- there is zero detritus. I change the water 15% every 2 weeks. The lights are on for 9hrs. I don't dose anything, so my question is what is the best route do I add fish, feed coral if so what? or am I missing something all together? Here are some photos. All help will be appreciated!

Here are a couple videos of the system to get a better idea of what's going on. My big question is what's the next step.

What does your sump look like? Also are you feeding your SPS?

+1 on feeding something to tank. Nothing will grow or color with zero nutrients going into tank. Sounds like zero fish so the water is stripped of anything. Get some kind of reef fuel, oyster eggs, fauna or something. Seems like most successful tanks feed but then have the correct system for removal via skimmer, gfo, carbon dosing and heavy skimming. Just like you wouldn't look healthy with nothing to eat but just as it is easy to over eat it's just as easy to over feed your tank. Take it slow and you will be fine. With sps stability is also something to watch so keep testing and keep as alk and cal stable.

This stuff works well, personally I think it directs you to dose too much (sorry my dog is very photogenic apparently).

Cool i will look into that product. I did pick up some oyster feast today.
