Colorado Sunburst Anemone? Thoughts?

Hi all, what do you guys think? Is this a Colorado sunburst anemone? I got it from my LFS! New addition, maybe if I burn it out more, it’ll be as vibrant as WWC CSB!

Does appear to be especialy with the deep green core which they do have

Look at those zoas in the background. You are talking about photo enhancement going on

You have a very beautiful sunburst. The names colorado and chicago are made because of where they were bought, raised and sold from

For example, elite reef and sang lee are colorado strains

I can't remember the name of the chicago guys off the back of my head, but they can be found.

Without Linage is just a sunburst. WWC uses heavy photoshop to get people to buy things

Go look at these corals in real life. Visit a store that sells them and ask if they can change the lightning. Check them out in White light and in Blue light.

The pic from WWC is not... bad... , but it's just a photographic pic for the power of it.
These nems look different in all kinds of lightning.

Just go look at them so you can reference online pics to real nems you have seen in real life.

Red nems... Sunburst... whatever... They are just reddish in white light and amazing in blue. Whatever you call them, you should be able to pick one up for free at one of your local keepers. These things breed like crazy and should be free te get. It 's a plague in some tanks.

Great looking anemone, does it have marbled footing or green streaks on tentacles? Marbled footing is a characteristic of a colorado while green vertical streaks are characteristic of chicagos. Was it purchased as a colorado?

Thanks! I have to inspect the foot closer again, but it was purchased as a Colorado!

Hmmm... are you still located in Singapore? If so, I'm guessing that the likelihood of it being a true lineaged CSB is very low. It would mean that that particular anemone would've been shipped from the US to Singapore, which I guess could happen.

This is where your trust in your LFS becomes very important.

I think you're thinking of typical RBTAs. These are different. Both Colorado and Chicago Sunbursts are lineaged color morphs that 1) typically don't split as much as regular RBTAs, 2) have yellow tips and a purple dot on the very tip, and 3) have a marbled foot.

Hey, i kno this is kinda old, but i just wanted to clarify a couple things cause bad info on the net preads if its never corrected. First, the bursts dont spread like plagues. They split maybe once a year if u are lucky lucky. More like every other. If not every 3 years for the chicagos. They get massive huge. But, they do not takeover tanks, u can easily manage and build a mixed reef around a burst nem. Total diff story vs a rainbow nem. Those, for sure split like crazy and can take over a tank in a year.
And last, side by side its a world of difference in color. Really. The bursts have the rep for a reason. U can see them across a warehouse. Next to a regular nem they look like a lightbulb.

So, sorry if somebody burned you or lied or whatever with what u have seen, but a real burst either chicago or colorado is a very diff intensity of color vs any other bubbletip out there. And unique colors aswell. The most unique part is the chicago that can shift from bright yellow and green back to red purple yellow and green. Theres nothing out there like them. To see it in person would change your opinion here.

Chicago next to a black widow, one of your “bright red anemones” and you barely see that red nem. Thats the difference in color intensity in a real burst nem. And this is a tiny split off the mom (will grow huge from here) and it dwarfs that widow already. Just a diff kinda bubble tip. The real bursts atleast.

Here is dome of my Chicago sunbursts. I started with one big one and it has split a few times over the years. I think I have like 6 of them now. They originally all stayed on the same rock, but then they ventured out a bit. Hopefully all of this is over with. I still have 2 or 3 in my original position where I wanted them....which is in the picture below. They are beautiful anemone's and nothing i have seen looks like them.

I’m not 100% sure what these are. But I do live in Colorado and they have split to over 40+ over the last two years. The clowns absolutely love them.

Those look like rainbow BTAs. The pinks tips are the key indicator.
