Hey everyone,

This is my second time in the hobby, I had a 40 breeder for about a year before a big crash in 2012 (asked my spouse to feed for me while I was away...). I managed to save a bit of the livestock back then but had to walk away for a bit.

I started a 29 gallon over the summer that I drilled myself. I recently got a reef ready 54 corner from someone for an excellent price so Im cycling more rock in there and preparing to move everything over in a month or so (its been cycling already for a few weeks).

The 29G is pretty rough, it was a trial in crappy DIY (I am taking my time and investing from now on).

Im excited to continue in the hobby!

Thanks!

I pulled the trigger on a 2016 Apex and a Wav (I hate this conductivity probe!). I bought a couple used kessil 360WE and a Gyre 130 with the Icecap APEX controller. The tank came with a Jebao DC skimmer which seems to be working great so far!

Ill be adding more liverock from my system in the the display and the sump before I move my livestock over.

Glad to see so many central Ohio peeps. I’m in Delaware. I’m a year into reefing and already upgrading from a 15gallon column to a 36 gallon bowfront. What are your guys go to local stores? I now of 5 saltwater places and only 3 that are both nice and affordable. What to make sure I’m not missing someplace.

Hi! Central Ohio peep here too! Welcome, @jokkor and @Kbeck !! I have been in the hobby about 2 years. Started with a 120 and am finishing cycling my new 180 gallon! (Build thread is in my signature if you want to follow! @jokkor - where are you in columbus?

I am in Pickerington. WOW - @Kbeck - you know of 5?!?!?!? WHO??? I know Matt's Corals and Rivers to Reefs. Both have been very good to me. I must say that I trust Matt's a TON so far - good guy! They each have their strengths and weaknesses. We need to do a Central Ohio tank tour! :)

Reef systems coral farm in Galena/ north New Albany. I like them. Rivers to reefs and Matt’s are the other 2 good ones. I have bought from all three. There is Aquarium Adventure in Hilliard but they are very expensive and Pet Value formerly Jacks on Morse rd( the only one still doing saltwater) but selection is small and the tanks look dirty every time I’ve been in. I forgot the petco at Easton and the one off Henderson also have saltwater but it’s a big chain store do I don’t know if they count. I’ll be hitting Matt’s up this weekend. Check Facebook, he is having frag sale.

Are any of you C.A.F.E members? Central Ohio fish enthusiasts. They have swaps and auctions and I was wondering if they were worth going to.

I live in UA. I really like Matts and Reef Systems a lot, I try to go for them for everything. Prices are fair for the most part and they are straight shooters.

This is the first I have heard of C.A.F.E. Im in CORA though and they are a good group.

I finally finished moving everything over!

Looks good! Going to be a late night for me - trying to save a sick fish. :(
