Companion Cube 60g mixed reef

Got a hydros x10 for $570 from walmart online of all places. Figured it HAD to be a scam but there was a 30 day return window so i said screw it and bought it. It came in factory packaging, in pristine condition. It appears that everything is functioning correctly, i have to wait for a few accessories to be delivered to test it all out but it looks like i got a win on this one.

Still following the 90/10 method from serious reefs.. mostly. The big problem is I don't have a clean up crew because I'm quarantining them so had a fair amount of Cyano and some GHA growing on the substrate. I turned off the lights for 3 days and it all died, makes me glad I didn't add any corals yet.

Looked everywhere for the Starry blenny I wanted, none of the fish stores in my vicinity can get any of them and most places online don't have them in stock. Found one at Dr. Reefs Quarantined fish for the same price as I saw at my LFS the last time they had one, so just waiting for that to come and I added some quarantined cleanup crew as well.

Added a royal gramma a few days ago fresh out of quarantine. It played dead for about 10 minutes then my maroon clown saw it. She pecked at him once, he pecked back and she has ignored his existence ever since. So that's a win at least.

The starry blenny I ordered from Dr. Reef's quarantined fish died the day before it got shipped out, so I am waiting another 1-2 weeks for it still. Worth the wait, they are hard to find right now. Neither the very local small fish store nor the much larger fish store half an hour north of me could order one in.

Tank is still going through its cycle, had Dinos pop up for about 2 weeks and those are gone now. Had some heavy green hair algae growing in lasting a few weeks, but since adding an actual clean up crew there's no trace of them any longer. Still having some cyano tho; not a lot but it's there and a little annoying, weird thing is it's only really growing on the substrate. There's a few spots that were on the rocks but largely nothing

Got a shipment of corals in, which all look wonderful. Probably a little premature to add in sps corals, but the parameters have been stable and the zoas, frammer, and duncan are doing well despite having just a touch too much flow so I decided to just go for it.

I'll add in some pictures when I have a day off of work and can see the tank with the lights on.

Water change day, a friend decided to come supervise.
