Containing chaeto in sump

with out getting into a long discussion of how upset I am with a vendor.....I need some ideas. I have a refugium and would like to add chaeto but I know for a fact that it will be able to get into my next chamber due to baffle problems. So what have y’all done to contain it in the sump. I guess some kind of box inside the box. Thanks

Egg crate light diffuser or some Matala filter mesh would do the job. It’ll let water flow through but block the chaeto.

I have a CPR sump and cheato in first compartment. I had an issue where cheato would pass through to center section where my skimmer is and small particles would clog my skimmer. I used a small mesh screen between compartments which has eliminated skimmer clogs. Just a thought.

I thought about diffuser, wasn’t sure if it would actually stop it. How often you have to take the screen out and clean it?

I clean the screen about once a month
