I'm planning a new tank build and have never used a controller before. I'm trying to decide on which system to go with. I recently learned about Sicce DC pumps being IOTA compliant and Apex being able to control them. Very cool.
I'm trying to learn more about the capabilities of a competing controller to the Apex. Can the CoralVue Hydros also connect to the IOTA Sicce pumps? Are there other return pumps that can be controlled/monitored by the Hydros?

My understanding is that IOTA was developed by Neptune and is exclusive to the Apex. Perhaps other controller companies may be able to connect wirelessly to pumps or lights, but not using the IOTA protocol.

As for the Hydros, take a look at their WaveEngine pump compatibility chart:

Also any pump with a 0-10v control input can be controlled with the Control 4 or the Wave Engine. The Reef Octopus VarioS 2, VarioS 4 and VarioS 6 pumps are 0-10v controllable.
