Has anyone played around the controllers, using them for other things, that's not reef related?

I use them as baby monitor , Christmas light/tree control, general purpose equipment control (like turning on tv automatically everyday at 6-8 pm) , monitoring home and outdoor temperature , and recently I am toying with using them for model railroad :-)
