I am looking to get a full controller/monitor setup and I am having a hard time choosing. I have been looking at the Reef Keeper Elite w/Net mod for a while and was pretty much sold on the functions until I heard that Neptune was working with EcoTech to include functionality in their controls for the Vortech. That really got me looking around at all of the other controllers out there and now I am hoping to get all of your opinions as to which setup is truly the best. They are all expensive and so I am not really looking for bang for the budget buck so to speak...just the best you can get. Opinions?

EDIT: FYI my tank is a 65g RR and I am opting to go full technology on every scale. I have PacSun LED lighting on the way and am in the process of setting up kalk and calcium reactors so both will be included.

I can really not recommend any more highly than the APEX from Neptune systems...

I have about everything they sell LOL

Not only is the controller great But I feel customer service to be VERY important and Curt the owner is very helpful and best of all available... He knows that his and YOUR business are important

I recently upgraded to a ACIII from the AC JR. Neptune Systems is great. The controllers are pretty easy to use. I think the programming scares some people off. But its really not bad at all. The built in NIC is nice too. One less module to buy when compared to other systems.

I believe there is a website that does a feature comparison of all or most controllers out there. It may not have the newer units like the APEX.

HERE : Aquarium Controllers: Download Controller Comparison Chart

It doesn't look like its updated.

As for other controllers, I know a few people in my local club love that love their Aquatronica.

I have the ReefKeeper Elite w/ Net. Its great, does mostly what I need it too, but had I had the chance to take the Apex, I would have! The addition of Ecotech in the Apex lineup is what would have sold me for sure.

I hate how secretive the Digital Aquatics people are about new modules, especially about the Ecotech/Tunze functions. Neptune let the cat out of the bag, so its time for DigitalAquatics to step up and let us know what their intensions are because people who are on the fence will likely choose the Apex because of the pump controller
