So I’ve been trying to eradicate a population of brown flatworms from my 10g nano now for a few weeks. Started by manual removal which has kept the population in control but is getting old real fast. I tried FWE a few days ago and as expected it wiped them out for about two days and now theyre starting to come back. Im hesitating on using FWE again as I noticed my population of small feather dusters really didnt like the treatment and are still recovering and a palythoa seemed very affected by the product or the worm toxins even though I ran carbon and did a 25% water change, it kind of inflated its mouth and almost puked its guts out. The paly is back to normal now but an area around the mouth is bleached which im sure it can recover from. Im suprised the coral was even affected as the population of flatworms isnt very big probably less than 100 in the entire tank due to me constantly sucking them out. I read about wiping them out by shutting off your lights for 3 days as they are partly photosynthetic. Does anyone have any experience with that? I was hoping to eventually have an ocellaris in there but if there is any fish that would control these id be game for it. As the tank is on the small size ive considered a tanaka pigmy wrasse or a white banded possum. Any experience with these and flatworms?
