So two weeks ago I started a Tisbe biminiensis breeding setup in an old glass vase. Now I have an army of copepods and is licensed to make dad jokes. This has been the most satisfying thing I’ve done in years.

Day 1^
Roughly 1 - 2 oz of tisbe startup in a few mils of tank water.

Today^
Copepods crawling over the walls and frolicking through the patches of GHA that grew out of a pile of mysis. Visibly gravid individuals can be found alongside newcomers.

Best choice in my life.

I have been growing tisbe for 9ish months and they grow well. I would be careful using tank water though as you could add unwanted pests.

I had a ton of extra water when I started my culture from adding the tank waters of other reefers into my sump in the hopes of introducing hitchhikers to my sump. Gotta use them somewhere. My phyto culture started with fresh water though.

When to mix up fish meal: When was the last time you tried a different brand of food for your reef?
