Hello,

I have a 3 week old copepod farm set up in a 10 gallon tank. Three questions I am hoping you guys can help with.

1) How do you take the pods out of the farm to put into the display tank? With a net?

2) How do you perform water changes on the pod farm? A few sties suggest every 4ish weeks but wouldn't the water change suck out a huge amount of pods?

3) Is the below picture a type of pod larvae?

With a net? That would be fun. . .for others to watch. Generally speaking the easiest way is to add them to a refugium/sump that is hooked up to your main display tank and they will periodically filter out into them while providing a safe haven for a breeding population. My recommendation would be to take a cup with some cheato and let it sit for a while to encourage pods to go in and then take it and add it to your display tank at night (so the lights are out and the predators will be less likely to get them before they can get to the rocks).
