Hi all,

I have a mandarin, so I setup a canister filter with live rock fom my lfs and added a lot of copepods so they will replicate.

Will the copepods go into the aquarium? or do I need to move them manually?

mandarin seems to be hunting and eating all day long.

Any advice is appreciated. thanks all.

Is the canister filter connected to your DT, if so, then yes some may make it in there. It would be best to add them directly to the DT. lights out if you have wrasses so they don't eat all of them. Allows the pods to settle in the DT.

ok great thanks, yes canister puts in and out from the main tank area, I also do not have wrasses. usually I buy some pods every other week and add it to main tank in the dark. glad I was on the right path. cheers.

Canister filter turned refugium is a good idea. But yea as long as it’s connected to the DT and doesn’t have a extra filter on the exit they should get in DT.

Does your canister have an internal filter that the water passes through before returning to the DT? It's been a long time since I work on one but the Magnum canisters return sucks from inside the carbon/floss or micron filter don't they?
