I bought a used tank a few weeks ago and it was used for freshwater. I asked if they ever used any type of copper treatment in the tank but didn't get a sure no answer. so is there a way to test if there ever was any copper used in it?

I would worry about that if they used copper.
Just a good cleaning with vinegar and let it sit for a few days running with a pump in there your good to go.
Rock or sand that's what will be worry about if used with copper.

I'm going to cycle for a month this time around. new live rock but barebottom on this build. before any livestock is in and after live rock has cycled enough can I test for copper or will it show any signs of it in the tank/rocks/filters?
