coral behavior in new home

I wanna know....

when you first buy coral and bring it into your tank, the coral is happy, produces multiple heads, like life couldn't be better.
Once it get's used to the tank, and after 2 months or so, it starts to decline. WHY?
if the parameters/tank don't change from day one of putting the coral in your tank, then why would it grow new heads, look happy, then decide to spiral downhill?

There are an unlimited number of possibilities. Here are some that I can think of.

For one, I think a coral may not be affected right away by the different water quality it had been used to. Although the parameters are consistent, they are not appropriate for that coral. It just may take a while for it to decline and be noticeable.

Another is that the water quality is unstable, and the coral could do well at first, but with constantly changing parameters can become stressed and can go downhill.

Another, disease

And one more, something is irritating it, fish, another coral, wrong light exposure, or flow.

I read somewhere that growing new heads could actually be a sign of a detrimental environment. The coral is trying to grow quickly to help it survive!
