I have recently ordered a Pseudoplexaura Gorgonian online. It should arrive this week and was curious as to if I could dip it or not. I tried doing a search but could not find anything on it. I use CoralRX to dip all of my other corals but since this is my first gorgonian I wasn't sure about the process. A few months back I was looking at purchasing a non-photosynthetic gorgonian from a LFS and was told that the coral should not be exposed to air and should be moved directly from the bag into my tank. I ultimately did not purchase from the LFS so I did not have to worry about it then.

So does anyone dip their gorgonians? Does anyone say they should absolutely not be dipped? If so why? Should I completely avoid taking the gorgonian out of water?

I've dipped both my Gorgonians in CoralRx at the recommended dose for 5min. They retracted while in the dip about as far as they could, but once I rinsed them and put them into the tank, they opened back up and are now doing fine.
Won't call that a certitude that they should be (or even can be) dipped, but my anecdotal experience is that they are fine to be so.

Thanks for the reply. It's good to know that someone has at least had a good experience with it.
