Coral dying

My tank is almost 2 years old. Constant problems. Started out great, after 2 months had lots of coral and fish. Dino outbreak, coated and killed all my coral. Got a UV sterilizer, dinos went away. Than bought more coral, growing and looking good, than cyano. Took awhile but got rid of cyano. Now looks great, major Coraline growing, but now all my acros, my cyphastrea dying or dead. ??????????? I'm about to drain this thing and put a hammer through it. Please help

Can you post a picture, your lights, and how your Alk/CA/ NO3 & PO4 levels are at and what other creatures you have in the tank. Was it started with live rock or dead rock?

We need some information to get the hammer out of the solution. :cool:

I have a kessil apex, it's a pro clear 90 tank, kh 9, cal 420, mag 1350. Nitrates and phosphate are zero. I have 5 fish, lots of snails and crabs. I don't have any pictures. I tried shrimp but my leopard wrasse kills them.

Dead rock I am not a fan of but it can work. Do you feed ReefRoids or other foods for the corals? They like to eat, especially at night they have their mouths open.

With the kH up to 9 they will be extra hungry. Talk with the folks at your LFS about coral foods.

Also, live phytoplankton and pods will provide natural food items and help keep coral happy.

I feed reef chili, live phytoplankton and reef snow. Just started a new pod population last week. The plankton and reef snow are recent additions so hopefully it will help. Thanks. Much appreciated

For LPS I like to feed my fish heavily so that the tank is filled with little bits of drifting food that these corals can capture and eat (if the fishes don't steal it out of their mouths.) For my sps I like the smaller "snowing" products. Hope your recent additions help turn the corner.

I feed my anemone and Duncan's shrimp with a turkey baster and use cleaner magnet to repel fish from stealing food. Thanks again.

Zero nutrients starves coral. And Invites dinos and other things to grow.

Mine bottomed out and I lost a colony to it and everything else is just recovering.

I crashed it in Jan this year..3 months of zero nutrients thought I was doing it right. Then I started losing coral then dinos came..

Now I use dosers for nitrate and phos. 15N , 0.1P

You've bottomed out! Phosphate and nitrate need to be raised. Feed heavily like double what you are now. Give it a week and retest.
