Coral species placement

Okay help me decide what I wanna put in my tank! The lighting is led. Reef radiance lumentek-pro 240. Big skimmer and a refugium section. No fish I. It yet but will be a malanarus, one spot, kole tang, and purple tang. A pair of clowns and maybe some sand sifting something. Few blue leg crabs, couple fighting conch, 2 pepermint, and a cleaner shrimp. Going to add more snails at some point but let's talk coral!

What kind of par do those lights get? What kinds of corals are you confident that you can keep, how stable can you keep your system?

No idea on par. I'm not really confident In keeping anything alive lol. I should be able to keep very solid stable water. Big skimmer, filter socks, ato, refugium, and will be dosing 2 part with my controller. Should be able to keep things dialed in nice. My water might run dirty because of the amount of fish I have?

Don't start dosing right away, unless you get a ton of coral, dosing comes later.

Maybe a torch or something. Some easier stuff until this tank ages a bit.

I prefer the natural reef look in mature tanks. That would have branching SPS at the top (3, 4, 5), mounding and branching LPS lower (2, 6, 7) and plating species on the lowest rockwork (1, 8, 9). Things like Fungia sp. on the sandbed. Z's and P's really show up everywhere. I know it takes time to get to the point where all of this thrives in the tank, but you're on the right track planning it out beforehand. I love Euphyllia sp. so I'd probably fill 6, 7 and 8 up with torches, hammers, and frogspawn at this point, but that's just me. Some nice Favia, Favies, Platygyra, or other less popular genera like Leptastrea, Galaxia, Plerogyra or Goniastrea would also work well there.

Thanks that's the kind of input I'm looking for. I've had fowlr tanks for quite a few years this will be my first venture into mixed reef. Really wanna do it right.
