I recently came into this older light. I will be gutting the power compacts and replacing them with t5s. The halide ballasts still work, but I was hoping someone could give me some insight into replacing them for something more efficient. I was looking at the reefbrite ballasts, which appear to have the same plug style as the coralife fixture. Will it be as simple as plug and play? Or will I need to replace something else. I dont know much about halides so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Any electronic 250w ballast can drive those. That is not a fixture that had m80 ballasts, but they will work too. ...basically, anything that will drive a double ended bulb.
