I recently upgraded from the original AI Hydras to the Hydra Prime. I had 3 original fixtures, and the manufacturer recommended I stick with 3 of the new fixtures even though they're considerably smaller. I kept the lighting schedule the same, which is a 2 hr ramp up starting at 11am with another 2hr ramp down starting at 8pm. I originally set the new Primes to:
30% UV
75% Violet
100% Royal Blue and Blue
20% Green and Red
30% White
I've had the lights or about 4 weeks now, and my corals are looking washed out. They are healthy and expanding, but they are becoming less colorful and more translucent to clear. The various frog spawns in particular really have lost color. I figured it was the lighting because nothing else has changed. I set the lights a lot lower:
20% UV
50% Violet
65% Royal Blue and Blue
10% Green
5% Red
20% White
The tank is 60" long and 29" deep. Can anyone give me some suggestions? I'm at a loss and do not want my tank to suffer. Thank you!
