I was just on face book and seen some one selling two used Nero 3 for 150 each.
why do people think their used stuff is worth retail prices?
why do fellow reefers pay retail for used equipment?
in my opinion once you open it and that warranty does not carry over the price should be dropped by 25% or more from retail. If it’s new and not open 15% off.
Every local fish store I have been too will normal knock off 10% Just to buy from them Vs online.
I am always looking for used equipment as I can’t normally afford new but the prices at which they sell it I just save for a little longer and buy new from a LFS unless it’s a decent deal.
End of rant.

I’ve never seen someone actually be able to sell it for that price.

Because if you list it higher than what you expect to get , people will counter with the price you wanted to sell at lol, I actually have problems selling things at a really low price it’s strange

I sell low but there’s a hidden cost...You have to talk to me for a few minutes at least about tank stuff because my fiancé doesn’t care about it in the least bit and I’ll be forty years old on the 23rd. Yeah, i’m in my lonely old reefkeeper phase.
That part

I just bought something and it was porch pick up. I was disappointed I don’t get to see tank of the reefer I bought it from.
My wife knows I’ll be gone for a few hours if I buy from a local reefer

Right! I love hearing how everyone else maintains their system. It’s absolutely fascinating.

I don't think I have ever asked for more than 50% of the original price.

I’m to old to play those games.
my wife thinks this way also
I don’t Craigslist hustle anymore due to having a job , but you can make money if doing it right, but I’d rather list it for 50% off online price or more and just helping another reefer out

I’m going to start putting ecotech stickers on all of my wares. Someone will gladly pay $200 for my extra special scratch-free algae pad (mr. clean magic eraser). “Does it have wifi?”

I've seen people here selling used above sale price new.....but its up to the buyer to verify if he/she wants to spend that much. I always just make an offer, sometimes it gets accepted and sometimes people dont budge. Just like buying a car - be ready to walk away if you dont think its a great deal.

Lol allll the time “like new t5 lighting system , needs cleaning , bought in 1995”-$150

I've had that recently looking for LiterMeter. I swear, every PM here and or RC was about pumps that date back to 2009

I understand paying more because of demand/lack of availability but you're selling a pump that's 12 Years OLD!
