CPR HOB Fuge

Hello! Has anyone modified the CPR HOB fuge to use filter floss or filter socks? Thank you for the help in advance!

Why not just buy a HOB filter at 1/10th the cost?

I'm sure you can use the HOB fuge for filter socks (Mechanical Filtration) but also don't underestimate the power of a Refugium (Biological Filtration) that has a solid lighting system. The Refugium if used properly could perform even better than filter socks if you were using none.
They're extremely popular because of how well they absorb nutrients and broken down organics, which is then just manually pulled out as algae. It gives you way more time between cleaning and maintenance because instead of switching out your Filter Socks daily, you can monitor the growth of the Refugium and take out some Algae when it's overgrown.
If you combined the two though, so Filter Socks working alongside a Refugium it's a great way to keep your system healthy and clean.

That's a great idea! Do you have any recommendation for lights for the refugium section?
