he's an emerald crab, Gorilla crabs have "hair" on the carapace and not just the legs.

That's what I thought. They're arguing over which sort it is on a fb group and I also got told it was emeralds that were hairy not gorillas! So confused right now!

I've had some rock in a tub for just over 2 weeks waiting to have a chance to aquascape. This guy popped out when I opened it up tonight. I've put him in a jug for now as I don't want it in the tank until I know what it is!

The thing is Gorilla and Emerald Crabs are in the same Mithrax Family... Just keep it well fed just incase it's a Gorilla Crab and he'll be fine.

I took it to LFS today and unfortunately got the only non chatty staff member. He said it wasn't an emerald, told me I should've just dumped it in the sump and promptly tipped it into one of their sumps! I was a bit gobsmacked tbh!

So none the wiser and it's now in their sump not mine lol.
