Thought I would get a few opinions of my aquascape before I fill it. The boss thinks it's too much rock. 🤷‍♂️

I think it looks really good! Its hard to judge depth in the photo but some of the rock looks a little close to the front glass for my taste. Mainly that middle right structure.

Thanks, I made sure to leave room so that I can scrape the glass or get my hands down there or whatever I need to do.

I think you need some higher ledges and lower ones , it is too linear for me. But that is just my opinion , lol - I would combine two of those into one large one and then create a smaller one or two on the other side or right next to it - it would be cool to create an open space of sanded in case you want some sand corals / sand inverts

Or maybe this? The big rock seemed to much

If you like it that’s all that matters , it looks like it does accomplish different fields of vision / hiding places , and a good setup for flow , I would recommend adding some live rock as well

My suggestion: if there's a spot in the same room that you are usually sitting or hanging out (not just when you are directly observing the tank), make sure the aquascape is also optimized for viewing from that angle. You will spend a vast amount of time looking from that direction, too.

I quite like it. Much less predictable than most you see. I like the fact that some of it is close to the front glass and with that in mind I'd encourage you to have some close to or touching the back glass, I'd also consider having a rock lower - almost at sand level - and another piece breaking the water surface. These extremes bring a natural look to a scape. The questions you need to answer are: what corals and fish you want to keep, is your tank going to be based on a biotope/region or is it to be a collection of rare acro frags. too many tanks are the latter and very boring as a consequence. Its almost done IMO.

Thank you very much. I ended up going with this. It allows for some sand level coral placement and middle tank horizontal. I have room to expand if needed. I really do like your recommendation of having coral break the surface. This is mainly going to be a FOWLR tank with some overgrown coral from my other tank. But I know me being me i will be throwing in some Sps along with lps.
