Can someone identify this thing? I got a very nice and healthy scoly over a month ago, but it's been receding since I got it. Upon inspection of its underside I noticed a hole with a large worm inside! I dipped it and after a few tries I managed to get it out. Can someone identify it?

Could it be the cause of my scoly recession? Rest of my lps are doing good and parameters are in check

I’ve had a couple scoly perish. Now I evict them before attaching scoly to Tonga round. I’ve taken coral cutters to the base to remove some rock, inspected, tweezed them out. Next step I use putty, flatten it out place scoly on this which is also on Tonga round flat rock pieces. Seems to work well, no worms getting in from the bottom. I evict Bristleworms

Wish I inspected this scoly more closely, sadly it passed away shortly after I discovered the burrow. Expensive mistake!

Sorry to hear that. Another thing I’ve done if the base they’re attached to is really thick, I dip that part in 3% peroxide for a minute or two and they come out. Then it’s tweezers
