I got an Inland diamond band saw a while back to use for fragging acans, etc. I have also used it on some acros because it makes such smooth flat cuts that glue up quickly. Since then I noticed that some of the new frags have tended to have tissue die at the base and them slowly recede up the frag like RTN but much slower. I wonder if some of the material from one coral is being transferred to another one from the saw blade and is irritating or stinging it. Anybody else notice anything like this?

What kind of water are you using? What are you cleaning methods after usage and are you fraggin lps then sps then lps or whatever?

Also, the friction of the blade can burn the freshly cut edge of a coral... I noticed this a while back when fragging my style, and then fragging the same pieces with power tools.... everything powered was burned at the edge to some degree.

I'm using tank water with a little Lugols added. I've been cutting one thing after another (montis, acros, etc) without any kind of cleaning. That was a part of what I was asking. Should I be trying to clean the saw blade when changing from one to the other? How?

I use Revive in place of Lugols. I then place them in a Lugols bath. It works for me and never had any issuses
