I’m building out a new system and wanting to include a cryptic sump to hold some old rocks that I’ve had. The rocks are currently in a brute trash can, but am wanting something a little less bulky and square for the ease of plumbing.

The cost of polyethylene water containers are crazy. Does anyone have any cheaper ideas? Maybe a trash liner like below? I’m concerned they may be made cheaply and leach bad stuff?

I might have a few ideas. Do you have any restrictions on the dimensions?

Here are a few:

23g Rubbermaid Slim Jim recycle bin:
Amazon product

23g Rubbermaid Slim Jim trash can:

23g Rubbermaid Square trash can:
Amazon product

I would avoid that one from Global Industrial. It looks super thin and flimsy. The ones above are going to bow a little. With the weight of water, nothing is going to hold shape as well as round since it distributes the pressure evenly against all surfaces.
