Hi ,
I already have a goby/pistol pair . I ordered a second goby without thinking it through . What will be the result ? Will they both pair up with the shrimp ? Possible fighting ? Schould i add another pistol shrimp ?

Thanks in advance .

The gobies might fight. You could add another pistol shrimp to just see what happens I guess.

Consensus seems to be they’re protogynous hermaphrodites, so given time and space one should become the male and the other the female. They’re one of the few fish that actually have a pair bond.

I don’t know if Pistol Shrimp change sex.

As for an update ,
We are 10 days in and i noticy very aggresive behaviour from the biggee one to the new smaller one thats been added . Both terretorys where far right and far left .
The big one is hunting down the smal one and leaving his crevice for displaying terretorial/agressive behaviour to the other one.
AS a result the smaler one is hiding up the tank corner .....
I do notice 5 or 6 black vertical lines on the body of the dominant bigger one when hes doing that in combination with open mouth and fins widely spread .
should i seperate ?
Does anyone know what those black bars are meaning ?

A short video of that behaviour .

Thanks in advance .
