ct_vol's 56g tank

This is going to be my pathetic attempt at keeping a log for this tank...

Well, I just threw this together yesterday... Made my wife happy to have some of the stuff laying around put to use... :D Broke down my 29g "FOWLR" tank and set this guy up... Its a Perfecto 56g Column... 30"x18"x24" I used the old substrate from the 29 and added a few lbs of new crushed coral... Threw some LR in there that had xenia growing on it from some of my other tanks... Ashley likes the xenia, but I don't want it spreading ... I'm sure you guys feel my pain...

I have a canister filter and a power filter on it for the time being... These were both on my 29, so should help with cycling the tank... Also have a 30" CL PC light fixture... I know PC's aren't strong enough for a 24" deep tank, but its what I have for now... lol Threw in a couple of Nanostream 6025's for current...

The only livestock I have in there is a 2" sebae clown and a Four Line Wrasse...

Corals thus far are Red Pulsing Xenia (sebae hosts), Pom Pom xenia, some random mushrooms I found floating around, a few brown protopalys I didn't want spreading, and some blasto merlettis...

anomie~ Plans are really up in the air right now... Ashley keeps yelling at me to get my frags off the sand beds of my other tanks, so I figure I'll be moving stuff from the other tanks into here... I'll be adding equipment as funds allow, but it will be a high end tank in short order...

dc_909~ Thanks!!! They're one of my fave fish... Not quite as bright as the cousin six liners, but they're sure as heck a lot less aggressive... That is, unless you're a pod... ;)

Mike~ You and your dang mantis tank!!! What I might do is take my clowns and yasha out of my 15g BioCube and turn that into a mantis tank... Glad you actually mentioned it... ;)

There are a few microbubbles... I've read this is normal for the first couple of weeks... But really, I thought it would be worse... I wouldn't want to be a newbie setting up this skimmer, but for someone who knows how one works, it was fairly simple... :) Only took a couple of minutes to get it "dialed in"...

Ok, got my new light today!!!!! :D

Current Outer Orbit 36" 2x250w HQI 10k's, 2x39w 460nm T5HO, 2x39w 420nm T5HO, and 18 LED moonlights... :D

I need to get new MH bulbs... Don't really like the 10k's that came with it... They still beat the tick out of the PC's I had on there... lol
