I’m trying to figure out a cuc for my new 55gal reef tank. Just got it set up and salt added today. I know I’d like to get a tuxedo urchin and some Nassarius snails. I’m open to any other cuc. How many of each would I need. Suggestions please!

Reefcleaners! Wait till there is something for them to eat (algae) before you add them. A lot of people say order half the crew at first. Get the other half later. I think that's good advice.

Don't get an urchin it will die, from starvation bc of the newly setup. go small number and then once you get it going add more as you go along the way.

for your first batch I recommend getting
1 pitho crab
1 turbo
10 trochus
10 florida cerith
10 nassarius
1 conch
10 blue hermit

i have a 60 gallon and i have triple this CUC but this should be sufficient.

Good advice about waiting for the urchin!

I would let it mature a little before putting in cuc. Let a little algae develope so they have something to eat. Astrea, cerith, trochus and margarite snails work well. They have different focus on what they prefer to eat. Good to have a variety. Put in 10 or so, wait to see how well they are keeping up and as more as needed. They will multiply to match the demand after a while. Hermit crabs are good. I have heard don't mix the different color legged ones. Supposedly the don't get along to well.

I plan on letting the cycle complete before adding anything
